Peace Corps Volunteer Greg Plimpton is trying to preserve local culture by helping to protect an ancient burial site near his Peruvian village. Plimpton, known by his community as “Goyo,” has been raising awareness around the importance of the site since July 2012. Now, he is working with fellow Peace Corps Volunteers, the Peruvian government and Stanford University archeologists to orchestrate an archeological dig and build a museum and visitor center adjacent to the site.
Was teaching English with the Peace Corps in Ukraine. Evacuated (because, you know, politics) and currently trying for PC Round Two in a new country. Spending my downtime waitressing and hiking in Coldfoot, Alaska. Previous homes include Wyoming, San Francisco Bay area, and Paris. I like tattoos, big skies, and pancakes. The necessary Disclaimer: all opinions expressed here are mine and mine alone, and in no way reflect the positions of the United States Government or the Peace Corps.
